Swiss science and research at AAAS
Once a year, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) – an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science for the benefit of all people – is bringing together the who’s who of science. Each year, thousands of scientists, engineers, educators, policymakers, and journalists gather together to discuss recent developments in science and technology. The 2016 edition of AAAS is taking place mid-February in Washington D.C., under the theme of Global Science Engagement – and the Swiss are not missing out.
The following members of Swiss universities and technical institutes will present their work and research at AAAS:
- Tackling the Complexity of Food Systems to Create Resilience during a session called Food Systems: Building Resilience and Partnering Across Sectors, and about Soil Biodiversity and the Link to Human Health during a session called Global Soil Biodiversity: A Common Ground for Sustainability
- The Cybathlon: A New Competition to Benchmark Assistive Technology for the Disabled during a session called Advancing Assistive Devices Through Global Olympic-Style Competition
